The Roxy Theatre

Reopening to the public in May 2004, after being faithfully restored, the Roxy is home to internationally acclaimed touring theatrical events, cinema screenings and music recitals as well as the residence for the North West Theatre Company (NWTC). The NWTC frequently engages professional directors from metropolitan areas for their productions.

The Roxy also serves as a function centre for a wide variety of activities and events. With its full range of audiovisual equipment and stunning backdrop it is the perfect venue for presentations, workshops or conferences.

Don’t forget the Roxy for special occasions like weddings (think of the truly romantic and unforgetable pictures a setting like this could give you on that special day).

Finally we highly recommend the Roxy tour (which can be arranged through the local tourist information centre conveniently located in the Roxy). It would be a shame to miss the chance to see one of the few historic country cinemas listed on the national trust website.
